The process of forgiveness

Learning to forgive and be forgiven is key to a healthy relationship. To begin you each need to know that a hurt exists. If you are upset or hurt then gently tell your spouse. It’s important to listen and try and understand what it’s like for the other person, even if you are feeling defensive.

Remember that when you forgive someone the event will still be a fact, but you no longer choose to hold it against them.

Forgiveness is a powerful tool in your relationship. It breaks up the barriers and builds the bridges so we can go on together. It’s worth it.
