Christian Guidelines
Introduction
Christian Guidelines is a charitable agency that seeks to bring reality into relationships from a Christian perspective. The organisation was established in 1994 and is affiliated to the Association of Christian Counsellors. While Christian Guidelines provides counselling to those who are struggling in their marriages and family relationships, it also seeks to build good relationships into better ones. This is achieved by facilitating training, in both local churches and the wider community, through marriage preparation and parenting skills courses.
The marriage preparation course is run under the title "Two into One" and examines areas such as:
- "It's good to talk and listen" - Creative Communication
- "We don't argue" - Dealing with Disagreements
- "It could be you" - Facing Financial Fiascos
- "Darling the earth moved" - Insights on Intimacy
Our parenting skills course is run in conjunction with ParentTalk and empowers parents to examine and hone their skills. As part of our ongoing programme of development, a marriage enrichment course is currently being planned. This course, called "Couples of Promise", will be presented over a weekend and is intended for couples who have been married for between 6-12 years.
